Academics > Distance Learning > Registration RegistrationTo register for a distance learning course, you must be enrolled at Kapiolani Community College or at another campus within the University of Hawaii system. If you are not enrolled within the University of Hawaii system, you must fill out an application for admissions. All campuses with in the University of Hawaii system use the same System Application Form for enrollment. Download, completely fill in all fields, print, and send your application to the campus of your choice. NOTE: you must have Adobe Acrobat reader to view and print this form. Register OnlineStudents who are enrolled within the University of Hawaii System may register online at http://myuhportal.hawaii.edu and follow the login information. Then, select "Registration." Note: Online services are not available from Midnight to 4:00 AM daily.
In-Person RegistrationIn-person registration will take place at: Kekaulike Information and Service Center (KISC) For more information regarding registration, visit our Registration and Records web site. If you have further questions, speak to your home campus contacts < CampusContact.html> for information on admission and registration.
Things To Do After RegisteringNow that you successfully registered for a Distance Learning course, there are just a few more things that you need to do before the semester begins. There are a variety of advising and support services available on top of instructor assistance. The below links will help to assist you in choosing the right service to fit your needs. Some links on this page lead "outside" the distance learning site and open new windows. To get back to this site, close the newly created windows. Do you Need to Email your Instructor? Some instructors required that you contact them via email once you register for their course, while other instructors would prefer to contact you. Please check the Distance Learning Course directory to determine which instructor you will need to contact. Textbook Information Most distance learning courses require text books available from the University of Hawaii Bookstore Outreach Program which offers several convenient ways to order textbooks. You should purchase your textbook's immediately after you registered; check the title, edition and publication date of the book you bought to make sure it exactly matches the required textbook specified in your course guide. UHUNIX Account Information on getting and using a University of Hawaii ITS email account can be found on the University's ITS Email Account Practices page. Advising Kapiolani Community College offers a range of academic advising services.Advising and counseling are means for students to obtain information about the college programs, services, and resources and to receive assistance in accessing the services and using the resources. Additionally, through advising and counseling students can receive assistance with decision making and problem solving.
