[triangle]When can I take the Placement Test?

Information about when and where to take the Placement test is available at our Placement Testing Site. You can also find information about what to bring, FAQs, re-testing, tips for success, foreign language tests and sample questions.

[triangle]How do I get an International or general application packet?

The University of Hawaii System Application Form is available for printing in PDF format, or you may request one through the Admissions Office of any of the University of Hawaii system colleges. International students must also submit a Health Clearance/Information form and Supplementary Information form. The International Student Affairs Office provides assistance and advice on applying to Kapi'olani Community College.

[triangle]How do I request a Catalog be mailed to me directly?

A printed edition of the KCC Catalog is issued every academic year and can be purchased from the KCC Bookstore. You may purchase the Catalog through the KCC Online Bookstore. The cost is about $4.25 and will ship in two working days.

An Online Catalog is also available in pdf format for viewing and printing. The information represents a "snapshot" of the print edition. You can view and print out these PDF documents if you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.

[triangle]How much does it cost to attend KCC?

The Financial Aid Office provides a Cost of Education breakdown every year.

[triangle]Can I register online?

Yes.  You may register for classes online through MyUH Online. For more information, go to Web Registration.

[triangle]Where can I find the Academic Calendar?

The Academic Calendar can be viewed through the KCC Online Calendars. A PDF version is available on the Calendar page for printing.

[triangle]What are Selective Admissions programs?

Selective Admissions programs are those that require a separate application, deadline and, in some cases, completed prerequisites before admittance to the program. These programs are competitive and may include interviews.

Selective Admissions programs majors include: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Care Home Operator, Nurses' Aide, Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, Emergency Medical Technician, Mobile Intensive Care Technician, and Legal Education. For more information, please refer to the catalog, program advisor or counselor.

Applications and deadline information can be found in the Student Academic Calendar or at the Admissions Office in Ilima 102.

[triangle]How do I transfer credits? Can I get credit for classes taken elsewhere?

Students transferring from another institution may request an evaluation of their previous academic records for the purpose of transfer of credits. You must complete a Request for Transcript Evaluation Form available at the Office of Registration and Records in Ilima 102. [triangle]How do I request a transcript?

Complete a Transcript Request Form available at the Registration and Records office at Ilima 102. There is a $3.00 fee for transcripts sent to schools outside the University of Hawaii System. Mail the request to:

[triangle]How can I tell if there are still seats available in a class during registration?

Check the Check Class Availability Site. You see the what the current enrollment for a specific class is. Courses are subject to change without notice based on reasons including enrollment, financial support and other college related actions.

Class enrollments are subject to ongoing fluctuations based on students adding or dropping of classes. Please consult the counselor for your major for advising assistance. Go to the Counseling Page for contact information.
