Does KCC offer help in finding off-campus jobs?
Yes, a variety of jobs are available through listings and placement services. Clerical, food service, data entry, and health care are but a few examples.
What are the advantages of an off-campus job?
They often provide more flexibility, allowing you to work evenings and weekends. On-campus jobs are usually limited to normal weekday hours. Off-campus jobs also offer a greater variety of positions, locations, environments, and opportunities.
Where can I find job listings?
Job opportunities are available for viewing at:
Office hours: M–F 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(Appointments are strongly recommended.)
Can I use the placement service?
Yes, if you are a student or alumni of Kapi`olani Community College.
What are my rights and responsibilities if I accept a job? By accepting a position, you become a member of an organization that will depend on you. You should report to work on time, notify your supervisor when you will be late or absent, and dress appropriately for the work location. When requesting time off, consider the department’s needs as well as your own.
Some positions may require access to confidential information, and abuse or misuse of such authorization is ground for dismissal.
If a problem develops on the job, the first point of contact should be the supervisor. Quitting should be a last resort
