Student Activities

This office is "home" to the college student government called the Associated Students of Kapi'olani Community College (ASKCC) Student Congress and the Board of Student Activities (BOSA). All registered KapCC student clubs are eligible to designate one of their club members to be a representative with full voting rights to sit on the ASKCC Student Congress to vote on matters pertaining to college academic policy, college governance, curriculum development, instruction, support services, co-curricular activities, student fee assessments, and student rights.

In contrast, the KapCC Board of Student Activities which consists of three faculty members and six students oversee the student activities that have been planned for the academic year:

Musical and Cultural performances in our Ohia cafeteria at midday
OSA movie series
A guest speaker series
CD Spin Days
Club Day
Study with Your Buddy series in the cafeteria prior to final exams
Ice cream parties
Student Talent Show
Fall and Spring outdoor concerts

We currently have 12 active, registered KCC student clubs. You may start up a new student club or re-activate an old club. Most of the clubs are open to any and all KCC students who want to join them. Check them out when you enter KCC. You have the opportunity to learn and develop your leadership potential and skills by participating in a student club and/or coming to one of our student leadership workshop series at the start of each semester.

Be sure to pick up a personal copy of our OSA Calendar of Events during the first two weeks of each semester. It not only contains our planned student activities for you, but it also contains some important academic information and dates that you need to be aware of each semester. In the Ohia cafeteria lobby, there is an OSA evaluation/suggestion box and forms for you to complete throughout the semester. There is also a similar box located just outside our Ohia 101 office door. Stop by our office and Student Lounge in Ohia 103. Have a great year at KCC!
