Support Services > Advising > Academic & Career Goals Academic & Career GoalsStudents who have an academic plan based on a career goal will usually have an easier time selecting their courses each semester. The career will define the major or program of study the student should follow and the program of study outlines the courses required. Students, who are undecided about a career or major and/or need assistance setting an academic goal, should seek career counseling. Career counseling will help a student become more self-aware and they will learn about the career planning process that includes an examination of their interests, skills, life values, and information about the world of work and job families. The Maida Kamber Center (MKC) for Career & Transfer Services in ‘Ilima 104, phone 808.734.9500 offers career counseling and houses resources such as computer assessment tools to assist students in identifying and developing steps toward possible career goals. In addition, they offer workshops, have career books, and college guides for students to use.
