for Students with Disabilities
at Kapi'olani
The Special
Student Services Office (SSSO), Ilima 105B provides support services to
students with documented disabilities on campus. Auxiliary aids, support
personnel such as notetakers, readers, scribes and mobility aides are
available through this Office. We are:
The TRIO,
Student Support Services Project, a federally funded project that assists
students who are low-income, first generation in college and/or with
disabilities. Counselors assist each student toward the successful completion
of their academic program.
The Gallaudet
University Regional Center provides support to the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing student at KCC as well as the Deaf community. The Intensive
Preparatory Program for Deaf students has been designed as a full immersion
program. Eligible students are exposed to various experiences, while
improving and increasing their language abilities.
The Campus
Counselor for Students with Disabilities coordinates all of the support
services in SSSO. To qualify for the following services, students with
disabilities must provide documentation of their disability to SSSO.
