LSK 97G: Self-Management Skills for College

What is LSK 97G?

A 1-credit course to orient you to college! Come and learn more about personal strategies to help you manage your time, make sound decisions, and prepare for the rigors and demands required of college. You'll learn vital skills that will empower you to become a creative learner and respond to educational challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of you.

Who can take this course?

Any student who is enrolled or placed into PCC 20,PCM 21, PCM 23, Eng 21V, Eng 22, Math 24, Math 25, or Math 97.

What are the course goals?

• Increase students self-confidence and trust in their abilities to succeed;
• Orient students to the KCC college experience;
• Discover ways to become creative, responsible problem solvers;
• Explore behaviors and attitudes that are appropriate and essential for college success.

What competencies will students attain?

• Students will learn about personal success by evaluating their own experiences, case studies, and journal writing.
• Students will learn to make sound decisions based on the wise choice process.
• Will identify effective strategies to manage emotions.
