Admission > Holomua > PCM 23 Exam Procedure For Meeting Basic Math Competency By Testing What is the Basic Math Competency Exam? The basic math competency exam is a 3-hour exam designed to assess the basic mathematics skills of Kapiolani Community College students. This competency test may be taken in lieu of PCM 23 with special permission from the PCM coordinator. A student who passes this competency exam may skip PCM 23 and advance to Math 24 or 97. The competency exam covers the areas of basic math that are taught in the PCM 23 course including operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percents and signed numbers. In addition, the exam covers ratios and proportions, application problems, basic geometry, and English measurement conversions. Location & Description of PCM 23 Competency Exam
