Brush Up Workshops

• How many English and math classes you will have to take
• What other classes you may take
• How soon you may start taking classes in your major
• How much time and money it will cost to get your degree

Therefore, before taking the COMPASS placement test:

• Do learn as much as you can about the test.
• Do review math problems.
• Do read.
• Do review writing rules.
• Do learn about KCC's math and English requirements and pre-requisites.

You can do this on your own, or you can join fellow students at some of the non-credit workshops, which are offered several times during the year. Workshops include:

• Exploring the COMPASS Test
  You will review test-taking skills, learn about KCC's math and English programs, and take a sample COMPASS test.
• Five of the Most Common Grammar and Five of the Most Common Punctuation Errors
  You will learn about these and what to do about them.
• Math Brush Up
  You will work at your own pace to improve your skills using an Internet-based program. After taking a diagnostic test, you may work on campus, at home, or anywhere you can access the Internet.
